ABOUT Hailsham Ramblers
Hailsham Ramblers was founded on 1st October 1984 and currently we have about 100 members. The Strollers and the Long Walkers meet on alternate Wednesdays in winter and we operate three groups in the summer which then includes the intermediate walkers.
The Strollers generally walk on flat paved ground with no stiles and only slight inclines. Their walks are about 2 to 3 miles in length and often incorporate a visit to a cafe.
The Long Walkers walk about 4 to 6 miles on undulating terrain and can include stiles and steep inclines.
In the summer, we also provide our intermediate walks which are for those who enjoy the strollers' walks but would like to walk further, around three to four miles.
The meeting point for both walks is South Road Car Park where parking is free of charge where we then drive to the walk's starting point. We meet from 9.15am for a 9.30am start and we operate lift-sharing, where possible, to reduce costs to the members and for the benefit to the environment.
Details of the 4 months walks programme can be found under our walks programme tab on this website.
In addition to walking, we organise various social events which include monthly 10pin bowling during the winter months, a summer lunch, a Christmas lunch, a New Year's Day get-together and a day's excursion during the summer months to a place of interest.
The club is organised by a committee of 8 members who are elected each year at our A.G.M. If you are interested in becoming a member or would like further information about Hailsham Ramblers please go to the New Members tab.
