Monday 23rd - Friday 27th September Hailsham Ramblers' Holiday to Chester staying at the Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel. The trip includes two walks, one around the historic city of Chester and the other in the surrounding countryside. There will also be a day out in Llangollen and a two hour cruise on the canal, including passing over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Saturday 28th September Walk for Wards and Support Mental Health on The Glynde Estate, near Lewes. There are 5K and 10K walks plus a 10K hill walk, so something for everyone. It is being organised by the Heads On Charity, part of the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Stalls, delicious food, and entertainment for the whole family will be found in the village. There is a registration fee and advice how to set up a fundraising page for those taking part but the event is free to spectators. All details @headsoncharity.org.
Wednesday 16th October Hailsham Ramblers' 40th Anniversary Lunch is at the Hydro Hotel, Eastbourne. For those who have booked their places, please arrive at 12 noon as lunch will be served at 12:30pm
Wednesday 30th October Hailsham Ramblers AGM at Union Corner Hall, Hawkes Road, Hailsham BN27 1ND at 10:30am.
Tuesday 10th December Hailsham Ramblers Christmas Lunch at the Hydro Hotel. A traditional Christmas lunch in the Crystal Restaurant. It is £32.00 for the 3 course lunch with crackers. The menu and booking form are in the latest newsletter. Please return your booking form, cheque and menu choices by 14th October to Gordon. Cheques should be made out to Hailsham Ramblers.
Our New Year’s Day Social on 1st January 2025 is, as always, at the Charles Hunt Centre. There will be a short walk locally on hard surfaces, starting at the Charles Hunt Centre at 10.30am, just turn up. The main event will start at 12 noon. We will serve the usual home-made soup, roll and butter, followed by coffee or tea and a mince pie. The price will be £2.00 per head. We will have some testing brainteasers again to get the grey matter working and there will be a raffle. We aim to finish by 2.30pm. No need to book: just turn up. The Charles Hunt Centre is a lovely venue for us to use.

Our Coffee Mornings will continue at The George Hotel. We meet on the second Thursday of the month at 10:30am. You are welcome to bring a friend. Coffee, currently, is about £1.50 for a mug with free refills. Future dates are 12th September, 10th October, 14th November and 12th December.
Our new 10-pin bowling programme starts on Wednesday 2nd October, followed by 13th November, and 11th December 2024. This is a two-hour session at the Hailsham Leisure Centre, 10am to 12 noon. Please arrive by 9.45am to register and pay. The cost is currently £5.80 for the two hours. We normally get through 2 or 3 games. Two lanes are booked so 12 members can bowl. All abilities welcomed.
